A community is more than a place. It's the people who make space for one another.
While the LGBTQ+ community has made significant advances over the past few decades, many lesbians outside major cities still struggle to find spaces where they can connect, gather, and build community. Across the globe, lesbian venues face challenges while spaces for gay men are often more visible.
In Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, a growing group of local women and expats are coming together to create a community of their own in a destination long associated with gay men's nightlife. Through social media, WhatsApp groups, and a lesbian bar, women who love women are building connections and challenging assumptions about who belongs.
Lesbians We Do Exist explores visibility, community, and the determination to make sure lesbian lives and experiences are seen and celebrated.
